From the archives: 'Vator Teeth

I found this picture in a box in the garage the other day, from my freshman year of college (1991-1992).......

My first two years of college I lived on the 12th floor of Taylor Tower at OSU. There would often be problems with the elevators, and one night we discovered one of the elevators stuck on our floor just opening and closing repeatedly.

So, inspired, I went back to our room and grabbed paper and scissors and tape. My roommate and I then proceeded to give the elevator teeth and eyes and a nose. While it was still constantly opening and closing.

Someone down the hall took the picture, which then appeared in the campus-wide "Dates & Data" datebook published the following fall.

Autumn Sunrise

This has been the view out my bedroom windows every morning this week as I've gotten out of bed:
Sunrise Autumn Leaves )

The brilliance only lasts about half an hour or so before the sun gets too high to light up these leaves.

Update: New! Improved! Bigger and better than before!

New toy

Last Monday my latest new toy arrived, a small 5-megapixel digital camera, the result of redeeming an Amazon.com gift certificate.

After a bit of image editing, the best of the results so far.... )

Maybe one of these days I'll get a printer to go with it....

Update: A handy book for tips on various aspects of digital photography is Digital Photography Hacks by Derrick Story.
